Invitation to submit an article for the CLEAR-AA AEJ Special Edition
‘Evaluation Capacity Development: Strategies, Designs, Procedures &Methods Made in Africa’

Dear Author

CLEAR Anglophone Africa is putting together a special edition of the African Evaluation Journal (AEJ), to be published by February 2017. In this edition, we would like to explore current methods that have been used in evaluation capacity development on the continent and to explore ‘what works’ and ‘how’ in Africa.

We’d like to use this edition to investigate the different ways being used to support systems and institutions to create greater evaluation capacity across a variety of sectors and actors. What might be included in the theme? We want to leave this open to your own interpretation but for us, it is about the strategies, processes and tools used to build the skills, knowledge, attitudes, systems, leadership and enabling environment for evaluation. This could be anything from tools used to work with civil rights groups to build their abilities to effectively advocate within oversight structures, to how a piece of work used innovative methods to build high-level leadership in a metropolitan system.

To this end, we’d like to invite you to submit a contribution for the journal for consideration by a review team. Ideally, these would be reflective pieces embedded in and /or situated in conceptual/ theoretical frameworks that are borrowed from other contexts, locally produced or innovative in nature.

Contributors are asked to situate their article within the local context and to discuss new learning from their work. Visit www.aejonline.org and view the instructions for authors. Other relevant information about the journal’s policies and review process can be found under the about section.

Please submit your article to clear.anglophoneafrica@wits.ac.zano later than midday 20th October 2016 for consideration. Selected authors (with guiding comments) will be asked to upload their manuscripts on the AEJ website for the blind peer review process.

We also need reviewers to assist with the review process. To sign up as a reviewer, please contact the editor of the AEJ at editor@aejonline.org.

For further enquiries or questions, please contact one of our guest editors:

We look forward to receiving your submission.
